The Cabin

Join us for a progressive writing experiment! I have begun the story with only a few paragraphs and a title. Let’s see where this goes! Laura, guest writer from

She put her face upwards and let the warm water of the shower run over, into her hair, down her body, and around her feet. She stood in there for quite some time, without washing or moving anything except her hands over her face and hair. Perhaps this was more of an emotional and mental cleanse, for certain she wanted all of the past 72 hours erased from her, like the water that now so easily disappeared into the drain.

She had arrived at his apartment that evening when the sun was just sinking below the horizon. Her body went limp as she got out of the car and collapsed into his waiting embrace. Little was said between the two, for all that needed speaking in that moment was said in silence as their arms found each other. He gently pulled her sleeping children from the car as she retreated to the bathroom.

The children. She rubbed her face gently with the warm water as she thought of them now, sharing two large beds and snuggled together. They knew very little, and she had to keep it that way for the foreseeable future. Little was said to them on the day of their abrupt departure, but her calm, quiet voice and pleading eyes told them what they needed to know.

Only one person could she tell. Barbara. The kind of friend a person lives a lifetime praying to have. The friend you can tell everything and then nothing, and she would understand always.

Lennon’s Fabulous Blog Take Over – with no Glitches!

Lennon is once again taking over Planet Simon, this time she’s going to an intense workplace situation, starting a story that’s going to go we know not where…

Break Away

You’re staring at me.

Chin resting on your hands intensely staring as I called out customer requests.

It’s terrifying for me, sitting across from you at your desk.

Your intelligence is intimidating.
My body is burning and I can’t look at your face.

My heart is pulsating as I attempt to concentrate.

Are you analyzing me while I speak?

I feel the vulnerability in my voice.

I take a chance and look up through my glasses and your hands are now in your lap.

Your breathing has increased rapidly.

Why do you look enraged?

Looking away instantly, clearing my throat.

With determination I rifle through the file and brief you on the remaining requests. I look up with relief that I finished the task.

You continue the stare.
Are you invading my thoughts?

Surely you cannot see my imagination?

My mind has carnal thoughts when I’m alone, do you know they’re about you?

What if you’re watching my fantasies by hitting a button on a remote control in your mind by observing them play by play and hitting pause?

What if you know?

I need to break away.

I have to be delusional. You’ve not spoken a word this entire time.

To be continued…..

Shut Out – Lennon Blog Take Over

Lennon of Fabulous with Glitches and I have been friends for ages, I love the sassy and quite honestly hilarious posts she brings to my feed. We’re going to be working together on each other’s blog’s over the near future to collaborate and write something different. If you don’t already know Lennon go over and have a look at here blog, say hi and say I sent you!

Lennon beat me to it first and this is a muse from her called Shut Out:
Your addiction was self-indulgent.
You were stained from the beginning.
Slaughtering anyone that gained passage.
No shortage on corruption.
Dependency weakening your impaired mind.
Twisting your words to tyrannize.
Shattering the ones that loved you the most.
The lacerations you left scarred all of us.
Look who’s damaged now.
Revel in your desperation and suffocate in your deceit.
Dispose of any hope or future circling your contorted mind.
Erase my face, words, and love from your polluted heart.
You’re expiring and disintegrating day by day.
To think I couldn’t get enough of you in the beginning.
Your pure existence is toxic and vile.
You’ll no longer gnaw at my soul, you’re shut out.

Make sure you pop over and see Lennon… great mind!
If anyone else feels that want to take over my blog sometime, let me know!
Simon 🙂
