In the early evening sky just after sunset Venus is rising and Jupiter makes it’s way east to disappear until later in the year. On March the 1st Jupiter and Venus will be very close to each other as they appear from Earth.
The reality is they’re millions of miles apart but how it looks from here is very different. It’s staggering especially as you consider that to see Venus you need to looks inwards – towards the Sun and yet Jupiter is much further out.
The other night the 2 planets and the Moon aligned beautifully.
I love skylines, so often a lens doesn’t do them justice but sometimes a wide lens and a moody sky can make a beautiful picture. I wish I could mount some of these at times…Enjoy the views!
I’m sorry, it’s me – I can’t help it. I’ve tried to keep the insanity from the door of this corner of the web but I can’t do it any longer. The world in which we live is wonderful, beautiful and terrible thing and yet there’s few – well quite a lot of people actually…
I can’t talk obviously about the rest of the world, but here in the UK Spring has been a bit of a washout but there have been a few times where the Sun and been able to shine onto the beauty of the Spring and I’ve been able to capture a flavour of it.I hope…
My name is Simon I'm an engineer, creator, free thinker and occasionally writer. For far too long I had ideas and nowhere to put them for the world to see, that's why Planet Simon was created.
I'm an experimenter, explorer and fascinated by the world around me and the people in it. My exploration goes further than the known universe and expands out to universe's I've created in my mind and put onto the creative canvas.
I'm not the person I used to be and over time I have evolved and the blog is evolving with me. Whatever this blog is in the future it's a place where all are welcome and ideas can roam free to find their magical place in the universe.

I often look inwards to find Venus and the tip of her son’s arrows.
