Hello there bloggies! Happy new year to all of you I hope you all had a good Christmas and new year and are looking forward to what 2023 has in store for us.
I’ve been very aware that I’ve not been on here much over the last months and I find myself wondering why that is this? Is this the result of the business up to Christmas? Or am I procrastinating over some kind of imposter syndrome? Who knows but I’m hoping that I will will keep showing up over the year and bringing you the random creative treats that I bring so I hope you’ll all stick around and don’t forget to let me know what you think.
For those that might be new to my blog, welcome I hope to see more of you all over the year 🙂
For those that have been around me a few years I have my ritual letter to myself that I open and then write one for the next year. It’s a funny thing writing a letter to yourself that you won’t see for a year. I Always ask myself questions, like will I still be around to see it? What will have happened to me? How will my life have changed? So many things can change over a year and we never know what’s at the end.
December saw some pretty cold weather that would have been more at home in a stereotypical Christmas with scenes like this being around for about a week.
But then for Christmas it turned a bit grey and damp – a usual British winter.
By way of bringing some Christmas writing cheer Ari Meghlen arranged and ran a Advent writing train where a train of writers wrote and published a story a day through December. My contribution to this was Advent Train Stories: Freeman’s Gift . If you’ve not seen it already – have a read though. I was quite pleased with it.
How about you guys? How are we all doing out there? How has your 2023 started?
I’m sorry, it’s me – I can’t help it. I’ve tried to keep the insanity from the door of this corner of the web but I can’t do it any longer. The world in which we live is wonderful, beautiful and terrible thing and yet there’s few – well quite a lot of people actually…
In this series of posts I’m going to look at the human perspective and ask questions like ‘What does it mean to be human?’ or ‘How can I be a better Human?’ with a little sprinkling of ‘How can I be more comfortable as a human?’In this mad world we’ve been enduring especially over the…

My name is Simon I'm an engineer, creator, free thinker and occasionally writer. For far too long I had ideas and nowhere to put them for the world to see, that's why Planet Simon was created.
I'm an experimenter, explorer and fascinated by the world around me and the people in it. My exploration goes further than the known universe and expands out to universe's I've created in my mind and put onto the creative canvas.
I'm not the person I used to be and over time I have evolved and the blog is evolving with me. Whatever this blog is in the future it's a place where all are welcome and ideas can roam free to find their magical place in the universe.

Hope you have aa wonderful year my friend and yes you will be around to read it!!!!
Advent writing sounded like a really cool idea! I’ll have to give that a try sometime. It’s been damp, muddy, and gray over here in the southern states too and 2022 while not completely horrible… It wasn’t especially easy or uplifting for me either. I really hope your 2023 is greatly improved ❤️
Thank you, I hope the same for your 2023 too ❤️
It’s pretty damp and muddy here too in England, but that’s normal lol. The only time it changes is when it’s frozen 😂

We all need down time, Simon. I think everything going on in the world the last few years have everyone scrambling to find their footing.
Glad you’re hanging in there. 🙂

I agree, there’s been so much rush to get back to an old and broken way of life.
I’m doing my best – I hope you are 🙂
