Blog Orbit – Blog Date September 2020

Hi there bloggies, hello and welcome to what is no September. Summer is over, at least in the UK anyway, rain has fallen in huge great floods at times and my roof sprung a leak. All this frivolity as well as work taking up valuable time has been keeping me from posting.
With this also has been the lack of some new ideas…. but as it happens I’ve been working on thi and there’s one or two things coming which I hope are going to be… entertaining.

I can’t say too much more as I would like it to be a surprise, but there should be something for everyone… Watch this space.

The only other post I got out this months was this little one where I had completed a second sketch of the ‘spaceplane’ sketch from my book. Using the markers this time to create the shading and metallic look was effective:

Drawing Sci-Fi – Perspectives and Shading

I hope the world wherever you are is calming a bit more and we’re finding a new and better normal. Much of my reading and creative work has suffered these last months, I hope I can pick it up again before the end of these year, come up with some new good stauff and NaNoWriMo is just around the corner too – Is anyone else taking part this year?

What have you been up to?

I hope you all out there keep safe and keep writing and smiling!

2001 – An Art Odyssey

Any of my long time bloggiesw ill know that one of my favourite all time SciFi stories is 2001 A Space Odyssey. For quite some time I’ve been thinking about what piece of work I could do for this. Eventually I chose this one, alshtough I have to say now that I would have done … Continue reading 2001 – An Art Odyssey

  1. Ooo, hadn’t even thought about NaNoWriMo yet! I might use it as a sprint to finish the first draft of my novel-in-progress. I’m about 35K in now, so I have a ways to go! Good luck getting back into your creative work–it’s been tough to balance with pandemic fears, etc.

    1. Yes it’s been tough to focus on creative stuff, but maybe nano will be what I need and if I plan it then I could do well.
You should join in too… get your book finished. πŸ™‚

  2. Hi Simon, I like your drawing. I actually just wanted to say hello. It is still pretty hot here in Toronto, but the chill is in the air at nighttime. A blanket is needed now for sleeping.

      1. Hi Simon. Yes, waiting for the cold to eventually come. Ugh! Some people love winter and all the fun activities which take place in the snow, skiing, ice skating, snow boarding, making snow angels. I like these things too but I hate to be cold. It is a rainy day here today and starting to feel the big chill. Thank you for the love and hugs. Sending same back to you. πŸ’•πŸ’•

Birds are flying South weeks ahead of schedule here as well. Summer was wetter than than average to begin with as well. Looks like it’s going to be a rough winter.

Could be worse though; I’m not in Claifornia anymore, lol.
