Life after Nano and I need to replenish my creativeness

I’ve been struggling since NanoWriMo, that’s the simple fact of the matter. I’ve actually had some time to sit down and try and post something this week and I don’t want to and I can’t think of anything much new.

Basically I’ve run out of my creative flow. Right after Nano I was pretty tired and needed a rest, but then work came along with a big project and bang I was fully involved in that for a few weeks and after that…. nothing. I have run out of creative juice.

This isn’t just for writing, but drawing as well and just thinking of something to inspire me to make something and go – tada! So if anyone finds it can they please send it my way? Please?

I mean it must be out there somewhere right?

5 NaNoWriMo Survival Tips

So I thought while I’m here I would give you all a little insight into what I learned from NanoWriMo.

1. Write everyday, if you can do about 1.6k words a day at least you’ll win.

2. What you write will more than likely be shit and no where near what the finished product should be. Just write it.

3. Be prepared for late nights or early mornings and some degree of sleep deprivation. A similar thing applies to socialising and TV, they won’t happen or you;ll have way less time for it.

4. Put the phone down.

5. I pantsed it, but I can see why people prepare. The more prep the better, but I’m not saying I will do that next time.

What I have stored away is the start of a really rough manuscript that even when I was most of the way through it I thought that this is going to need re-writing heavily. But I think that it wasn’t necessarily about quality, it’s about establishing a writing habit. Now I know I can do it I know I will be writing more.

So if you’re reading this and thinking about stopping your Nano or WIP – don’t! Just keep going!

I’m going to try and catch up with as many of you as I can before Christmas, I might not manage it but I hope so. I hope you’re all enjoying the festive season and maybe by the end of it I will have found my creativeness again – who knows?

Let me know what you guys have been up to?

Carina Nebula’s ‘Mystic Mountain’ | NASA

Within the tempestuous Carina Nebula lies “Mystic Mountain.” This three-light-year-tall cosmic pinnacle, imaged by the Hubble Space Telescope’s Wide Field Camera 3 in 2010, is made up primarily of dust and gas, and exhibits signs of intense star-forming activity. The colors in this composite image correspond to the glow of oxygen (blue), hydrogen and nitrogen (green) and sulfur (red).

Blog Orbit – Blog Date December 2019

Hello bloggies, happy December! I cannot believe that we’re now racing towards Christmas. It seems like only a few days ago that I last wrote and was looking forward to the challenge of NaNoWriMo.

I only got two posts out this month, there was no blog battle and they were literally NaNo updates:

The finally as December was breathing down my neck and I passed the 50K words barrier I posted this:

So yeah… I won! I did it and wrote a novel (albeit a small one) in a month! I’m really pleased about this and right onw I’m actually feeling great but also tired, it took a lot of juggling and late nights to get the daily word count in.

But for me it’s not the numbers that was important it was the getting into the habit of writing something. I went into it thinking that if I got to 20K that would be great. So if anyone else out there reading this did NaNoWriMo I would like to hear your story, how you did you do and what did you learn?

Also make sure you look up my other blog Syborg’s Site. After the November hiatus more stuff will be on there soon!

Let me know how you guys are – what are you working on? How’s life?

Keep smiling and writing.

Nanowrimo and the 52107 Reasons I’ve not been about

As some of you may or may not know I’ve been taking part in Nanowrimo and through November life been slowly but surely increasing the word count on my first novel creation.

At about 10.30 on Saturday the 30th of November I finished the first draft of my manuscript at a word count of 50107 words. Each of them were the rain I’ve not been about much.

I’ve been keeping up with some of you but in the last week especially I’ve not been keeping up or posting on here. I’ve learned a lot from taking part, particularly the power of consistent writing to move the word count up. It’s a powerful thing and even if you don’t take part out write 1600 words a day even a few hundred count.

I had expected to get to around 20k and would have been happy with that but I managed to keep it going.

Was there anyone else reading this who took part? How did you do? What would you do differently next time?

So happy December to you all were now on the charge towards Christmas and the world is going mad. I hope you’re all well…

So… What’s going on here?
