What is the Black Knight? Why should anyone care?

According to conspiracy theorists, it’s very important and everyone should care. The Black Knight is said to be a 13,000 year old satellite from an alien race that’s been sending signals to Earth for all this time. It’s purpose and origins totally unknown.

The story is that Nikola Tesla first detected radio signals which even to this day have not been explained. The Black knight was allegedly first detected in 1960 by the US Navy, the sighting of this this and the identification of the Black Knight has been applied retrospectively to Tesla’s radio signals.

The Black Knight’s orbit differs from most other satellites as it circles the Earth in a Polar orbit (top to bottom) rather than an equatorial orbit (round the middle). We use polar satellite for Earth observation, which gives some idea to it’s purpose. Our first polar orbital satellite was only launched in 1960.

Various unconfirmed reports of the Black Knight tracking the shuttle, satellites and the ISS have leaked into general knowledge. But are they true? Is there a more rational explanation?

The Wikipedia link below details the alleged real facts around the Black Knight and it’s said that Nikola Tesla’s radio signal cannot be attributed to an alien satellite, the US Navy’s detection of it in 1960 was poor identification of a satellite and the claims around a 13,000 year old satellite were made by a Scottish author to the media and later retracted.

Like all conspiracy  theories, there’s always the questions either side. It seems absurd to accept the idea of an alien satellite orbiting Earth. But if another race wanted to monitor us for a long time it’s only recently that we’ve been able to detect it. Perhaps it’s calling card, maybe it’s purpose is far more sinister.

Whatever it is, it exists. Whether a fragment of another human spacecraft, or alien satellite. Only when it’s captured and examined will the mystery end. Or maybe, it will only be beginning…

        ” What are the rules?”
        ” Well from what I can make out. You got two sides see. Then they stand close up and shout at each other until one gets to say they’ve won. The other side says they didn’t. Then they change all the rules. And then they all start shouting again,”
        “Crazy. Can you tell if anyone does win?”
        “Uhh..I don’t think that’s the point. I think they just enjoy the shouting part. One bit is really wacky at some stage the side that says it’s won sends some of the team to rush off and talk to the spectators. Then they rush back, and if they start to loose they blame the spectators. Then the other side tries to get spectators to join in on their side. Then some times some players from one side rush over to join the other side, and then rush back again,”
        “And they all still keep on shouting?”
        “Oh yes,”
        “How do you know when the game is over?”
        “Uhh…Doesn’t seem to be that sort of game. It’s all about the shouting,”

      2. Don’t they have referees and scorekeepers and such? Some do strike out at election time – that’s when the spectators ostensibly get to have a say in the outcome of the game – but for that to be meaningful, you’d have to have elections at least once a week. That would be fun, wouldn’t it? People could tweet their “votes” and new faces would appear on the banner.

        “Oh, I like him, he’s handsome, I’m like, “Liking” him!”

        “Hey look at her – she looks like my drill sergeant. I’m like so not “Liking” her. Say, how do you get to be a contestant?”

        “You need to get “Likes” and “Tweets” in the high percentile. Most contestants are rich so they buy their popularity. Our chances are on par with winning the jackpot on the lotto!”

        “So we just keep playing the game then?”

        “Sure, it’s fun. I enjoy it. I especially like to read the tallies, see who lost, who won, who’s having another go for a week.”

      6. Hmmm… This game sounds like chaos. Oh… Yes that’s right. Brexit is in chaos.

        The problem simply is that the divisions in government reflect the divisions in society. Which is not a bad thing in a way.

      9. I know, and it’s hard not to get dragged in, that’s a danger.
        When we go into the local Sainsbury’s cafe, I find myself ‘profiling’ those who have chosen to read the ‘Daily Mail’ and such a reaction cannot be right.

      13. Now there’s an entirely different subject 🤔.
        I have an involved a not very cheerful hypnosis indicating the USA itself is on a possible pathway to fragmentation and ending up as very loose and argumentative set up like The Holy Roman Empire.

      15. Hi Roger, do you mean “hypothesis” on the future of “these united states of America? The fragmentation theory is mine also, gathered partially from the lessons of history, the latest being the Soviet empire. Very little that is real “unites” the United States. They will soon disintegrate into a loose “federation” of semi-independent states resembling a bit the situation prior to their civil war which forced the “federacy” upon the “confederacy.” Many still believe the civil war was fought over the issue of slavery but of course that was the cover story. The issue was, as it always was and will be for that capitalistic enterprise called the USA, a question of financial power dictated from Washington, and states’ rights to secede if they didn’t approve of the arrangement. It was lucky for the North that Britain chose to remain semi neutral in that conflict. Who would help Washington today should a serious attempt be made to secede from Wall Street/White House dictatorship? I guess it would hinge, as so often in history, on how the military and security forces reacted. So, the official end of the republic and beginning of totalitarian military rule, as opposed to current totalitarian rule through banksterism.

        The USA is likely to go the way of others. Military rule itself does not last. By its very institution you cannot have a military without a ever smaller chain of command at the top. And in a military rulership there are also those who think they can to do better and gather their own ‘legions’ and they fail and fall. Happened in Greek and Roman histories.
        Even the Money Houses fall beneath their own weight of speculation.
        It is one thing which keeps my spirits up is to look at these strutting vacuous folk of greed and ego and think ‘You’re time is going to come’ (thumbs down)

  4. What I particularly love about conspiracy theories is the small detail that makes it perfect; in this case the 13,000 debris age. I mean, how can anyone even know that, unless they traveled up there and studied it? Or did they magnify the photo to the point where they saw a small inscription, “proudly made in 13,000 BC”?

  5. I vote “alien” satellite and here’s why. I think by now everybody has heard of the Piri Reis map. Here’s a bit from World-Mysteries.com:
    “The Piri Reis map shows the western coast of Africa, the eastern coast of South America, and the northern coast of Antarctica. The northern coastline of Antarctica is perfectly detailed. The most puzzling however is not so much how Piri Reis managed to draw such an accurate map of the Antarctic region 300 years before it was discovered, but that the map shows the coastline under the ice. Geological evidence confirms that the latest date Queen Maud Land could have been charted in an ice-free state is 4000 BC.” But here’s a bit more: to get the details on the map the survey would have to be done from 80 miles up in space. Figure that one out.

  9. Up until now, if anyone had asked me about the Black Knight, I would have said ‘Marvel Comic character’ (yep! I know).
    Thanks for this information Simon.
    I’m sceptical on the notion that aliens have been watching us for so long. It seems to suggest that their own culture has gone a bit moribund and not made any advances because their still doing the same ‘old thing’. Whereas if they were progressing would have turned up by now.
    (Unless you embrace one of the SF story lines -as currently used by Marvel- that we are such an irresponsible bunch fooling about with powers we don’t understand that we are a positive danger and should either be exterminated (been tried) or isolated)

    1. Like all conspiracy stories, they’re often based on rather shaky facts. BUT – this thing exists, whether it’s space junk or someone’s secret satellite, or something else. Who knows?

  10. Very interesting. I’ve never been one for alien conspiracy theories (I’m skeptical of most conspiracy theories), but am open to the idea that aliens exist.

    No reason they shouldn’t… we haven’t been everywhere in the universe and life could’ve evolved somewhere else.

    But I’m skeptical about there being a cover-up. Still, it’s an interesting story and fun to think about 🙂

      2. There is logic and some sense behind this, we’re all too wrapped up in out own goals, even hurting others. It’s about time we grew up and just tried to work out the real problems in this world.
