Word Prompt Story – Strip

Word prompt stories – I’m going to try and look for a word prompt daily (haha don’t laugh) and see if I can create something short and sweet to write around it. As it’s me I’ll probably try and put a science fiction spin on it.
Let’s see if this works.

Also this is for all you reading it, this is a challenge for you as well, can you come up with something based in the chosen word? If you can create something short of around 50 – 200 words (but no limit really) , it can be a story, poem, thought or whatever and link back to this post.

Strip

It wasn’t his day, first the breakdown in the the engine room and now this. Having to strip down the the air processing unit was never fun. Dust and germs and all kinds of crap got into it.

It smelled like crap too, the covers fell and crashed to the floor, even through the mask he could smell it.

But was was this? A gem? They say that gems sparkled but this one actually did. It was illuminating the room. Picking it carefully from the detritus. Cleaning it off it glowed with a beautiful watery glow. As if freed from captivity suddenly it was gone. As if it had never existed.

Despondent it was back to the air processing unit.
