Planet Simon’s Weekly Orbit – Blog Date 22-2019

Planet Simon – Me and the World (The following week)

Hi there bloggies!

So last week was again quiet for me, it’s a bit of a hiatus especially after last week weekly orbit where I threw into the mix that I had no idea what I was doing, why for what reason and all of that. If you missed it Click here.

So moving on another week and yes I know it’s Tuesday, I hope you can allow me the day off but needless to say I’ve been thinking. I’ve realised a couple of things:

1) Planet Simon is about my writing, my love of Science Fiction and that kind of thing. If you like call it a sci-fi and world building blog. If I do that then it gets easy.

2) I love taking pictures, I’m always taking picture on my phone when I see something really cool or beautiful, I think this needs more attention, whether on my other personal blog or in it’s own home. Not sure yet. Any views on this welcome.

3) It seems that while I’ve neglected my personal ( aka dossing) blog more than Planet Simon the wit and… something is appreciated and that’s hard to ignore.

What do do…

So how does this help me? I said last week I want my work to change the world (don’t we all), to put that spark into someone or many someones and to feel that it’s valuable. The thing is I guess being someone who creates designs for may proper work you get used to the attitude of right that’s been done, yep works well! I know that it’s gone well by virtue of fact that someone hasn’t been to visit to bash me over it.

I don’t have all the answers yet, I’m thinking about brainstorming this over a post or some and seeing what people are thinking – one great thing from last weeks post was how much it resonated with a number of you and I would really like to hear the opinions of more people becasue it was really interesting to see where the thinking is behind the question really of why we blog. What I do know is that it’s personal to everyone!

What I think I am missing is one thing – my goal. Once I can define my goal(s) I’m hoping this will all become really easy (haha).

What about you guys – what are your goals?

One of those goals is to make an impact, but in away, so what. Sure you get a warm fuzzy feeling but is this blogging thing just about stats? Likes and comments are all it’s about? I don’t think so, at least not for me.

So what’s the secret to this – I seriously think it’s digital alchemy we’re all playing with here. All doing our mix of elements, hoping to hit some kind of gold.

I would love to know you guys thoughts on all this and if you missed it look up last weeks post… is this something you feel?

Watch out for more on this…

Keep smiling and writing!

    1. Hi ya Ilona, thanks for commenting but if I start a new blog I’ll start it from scratch. It’s not necessarily about the number of followers it’s more about the right audience.
      Ah – you’re not crazy 🙂

      1. Yes and some of that audience (the ones that read my posts at least) will also pop over and support me there so I’m not daunted at all. Thank you so much that means a lot 😀

  2. I think your long term goals are to be commended Simon. You have a wonderful blog and even though I am not a Sci Fi fan per se (no eggs please) I still love to read your very exciting narratives and I am very impressed with your technical knowledge. As a CCU nurse, my poetry and writing is an outlet for my creativity and a break from the stressful and sometimes frustrating work that I do. Thank you for the opportunity to express this. Have a wonderful day Simon.

    1. No eggs for you, it’s good to have you about and thank you so much for your kind input it’s always appreciated.
I can see why your writing helps with the stressful work you do, it sounds like it’s all kinds of important, frantic and stressful.
You have a wonderful day too 🙂

      1. I’m sorry that you’re in pain, but if you need help with wordpress I can try and help a little there.

I’m good thanks, there’s been a lot of ups and down this first half the year but you know… can’t complain.

      2. Ok, that is strange. It usually works… I’ll have a look for you.

What have you been doing recently or have you been taking things slower becasue of the pain?

      3. I am still dealing with the tumors in my throat and scheduled for surgery on 7/8. I’m not concerned about cancer or any remaining effects. Mostly reseting….I’ve had so much pain in one leg it was hard to walk for three weeks. I had a progressive treatment for pain and now feeling better overall. Of course feeling better overall means low-grade to med-grade all over pain. I have slowed down for a change and resting really helped. I still go to bed at 8:00pm.

      4. It’s good to hear you’re not concerned about cancer and that you’re taking care of yourself and resting. I hope the pain recedes and you can have a higher quality of life 🙂
