Hi there bloggies, I’ve been seeing some post warning me of an A – Z Challenge and I was curious. I’ve seen this around before but have never participated, for some mad reason I thought I would give it a go.
So here I am.
My theme is the A-Z of Scifi moves, I’ve not given this a great deal of thought and I know of a number but I won’t lie there’s some I will struggle with. I hope you enjoy them!

P is for Pacific Rim
When a huge monstrous lizard thing called a Kaiju appears and starts tearing up the Earth it takes all of mankind’s efforts to kill the creature. Thinking the threat is done the world rests, until another appears, then another. Struggling to deal with the threat the world unites and creates the Jaegers, massive robots controlled by two human minds in unison.
A Jaeger pilot who disappeared after losing his twin brother co-pilot is called back for an unauthorized last stand as the Kaiju keep coming and the time between their appearance reduces a way needs to be found to stop them coming back – for good!

This film was not received well by audiences (except in China) unfairly as I thought this film was pretty good. It had a great concept and there was loads of action in it. The Jaeger action is pretty impressive but does get a little unrealistic at times, like falling from thousands of feet to the ground and surviving. But Definitely worth watching.
With P done that means Q is next…

Science in Sci-Fi – Time Travel
Science fiction is as the name suggests the fiction of science. I thought it would be a fun, interesting and at times mind bending idea too look at the science behind some of the technology in science fiction and look under the hood to see what’s required to make it work or what barriers areContinue reading “Science in Sci-Fi – Time Travel”

Time, Space and the Universe as we know it – Part 2 Relative Motion
With all it’s vastness and complexity it’s taken a long time for humans to reach the understanding that we have of the universe that we have. This is the story of evolving understanding and how simplicity gives way to incredible truth’s that seems to sit at odds with how we think life should be… andContinue reading “Time, Space and the Universe as we know it – Part 2 Relative Motion”

Pacific Rim is basically and unashamedly tremendous fun! Big monsters, heroic folk piloting large war machines, civilisation on the seaboard at threat. C’mon what is there not too like? Wonderful choice Simon
