A – Z Challenge – Sci-Fi Films M is for The Matrix

Hi there bloggies, I’ve been seeing some post warning me of an A – Z Challenge and I was curious. I’ve seen this around before but have never participated, for some mad reason I thought I would give it a go.

So here I am.

My theme is the A-Z of Scifi moves, I’ve not given this a great deal of thought and I know of a number but I won’t lie there’s some I will struggle with. I hope you enjoy them!

M is for the Matrix

The Matrix – a puzzle for a young computer hacker Neo (Keanu Reeves)to work out. What is the Matrix? Where is it? It almost seems to be an urban myth or legend until Morpheus makes contact with Neo, followed by the positively creepy Agent Smith.

Eventually meeting the great Morpheus Neo is offered two choices, signified by the now infamous blue and red pills. To find out the truth and never go back to his old life, or to go back to his life and remember nothing of what happened.

The truth is far more horrifying that Neo could imagine and the start of an adventure beyond his wildest dreams that will take him to beyond death.

The scene of Neo stopping the bullets is totally iconic and this is a great film, followed by two others that complete the trilogy this was arguably the best, as it makes you ask the question – what is reality?

With M done that means N is next… Hmmm.. we’re going to get even darker.

  1. I did enjoy Matrix (although everyone got fed-up of me telling them it was a steal from the novel The Joy Makers by James E Gunn)

  2. I liked the first film in the trilogy because of course, Keanu Reeves, however the second one (I think) which had the scene of Agent Smith multiplying and attacking Neo in the park was just too much CGI.
