You know last week I said it was starting to feel like Spring – well bang went that on Saturday with snow falling – ALL DAY! It’s bright and sunny today but damn cold, the thing is British Summer Time starts this coming Sunday – it ain’t no summer yet! It feels a little like the film Groundhog Day (Which I love btw) with the snow repeatedly coming back and keeping us in the grip of winter.
Something on my mind right now is the often unpleasant attitudes of others online. Suzie has had to step away from years of work on #SundayBlogShare becasue of constant verbal and hashtag abuse and Holly has found her work plagiarized. It’s not all roses and out there bloggies, take care and be prepared for all kind of hate including plagiarism. The problem I often see with trying to do something about it is that it’s seen has hating when all you’re trying to do is defend your own hard work. I have no answer for this, just be mindful and try and not let it get you down if it happens becasue this seems to be a common thing in the blogging life.
I mentioned in a recent blog post Ellie Maloney and her book 329 Years Awake. I am going to try and write a post on the book this week and what I thought for it. For all you scifi fans out there I’m hoping to make this a bit of a treat – not that I’m setting the bar high or anything!
I’m going to bite the bullet this week and start my ‘Geek’s Guide to WordPress’ series, at the moment there’s about 10 part written or planned but this could be ongoing if there’s enough support for this. I’m actually finding out stuff about WordPress I’ve forgotten and it reminds me of how much there is to take in with learning to blog in WordPress.
I had the fortune of being mentioned by Lacey in the Big and Pinky Toes blog where she had spotted and shared my post on taking hand sketches through to digital designs. Theres’ going to be more posts on this soon but for now, thank you Lacey for that! 🙂
Planet Simon still has a few changes going on – keep an eye out to help you guys access my short stories. The Great Galactic Service Station now has its own page and I’m going arrange the menu’s so individual story parts can be accessed from the menu. Don’t say I don’t do anything for you guys! ;-P
escribble has been a bit neglected in the last week or so a has Universe of Possibilities so I’m hoping to try and change that this week with some new material. But have a look at these blogs anyway and given them some support of you feel you want to!
If you’re on Twitter make sure you follow @BlogBashChat and join us all for a blogging chat on the first Sunday of every month 7pm British time. It’s a great little thing that’s growing and you get to find out more about blogging and Bloggers!
That’s it really not much going on! What have you guys been up to?
Keep smiling and blogging!
Simon 🙂

I’m super new to twitter, and have no idea what’s going on there, but this is super sad to hear. I’ve read the original post you linked, and i can see why she’s upset.
Snow wise things are looking better over here (London) and i wasn’t freezing to death on my way to the office this morning… 😀

Twitter is a funny old place… I don’t get it myself yet.
I’m a bit further north near Cambridge and the snow is all but gone. It was ‘warmer’ although I would use the term less cold lol

Yes it’s a shame for #Sundayblogshare & all the hard work thats been put in, I’d only just started joining in too! Good luck with your Geeks guide, always helpful to me 😊

I joined in rarely as I don’t get the time. I’m hoping the geeks guide will prove helpful to many. At first it’s aimed very much at a new blogger.

The world keep turning and inclining Simon, it’ll soon turn warm and light.
Will be looking forward to your wisdom on WordPress, I could do with that.
Writing has been slow this past few weeks; need to kick start. I did indulge in a guilty please though, going on Facebook and baiting Conspiracy Folk who insist it’s not the Russians who poisoned people, it’s all our government, bit like shooting fish in a barrel.

The sooner the better I think!
These posts start simple and go from there, I’m hoping it’s going to become a useful resource.
The only thought I have on this Russian thing is that if they did do it they’re obviously making a statement in using a soviet nerve agent that would point immediately to them. Either that or someone is hoping to start a fight.

. Cold War stuff again. I lived through it 1950s-1980s. History comes around to remind us.

Why does this happen? Don’t we learn?

Philosophers and theologians have been puzzling that for centuries and centuries, psychologists and sociologist have joined in and no one is any nearer getting answer.
Remember in The Hitch Hiker’s Guide it was recorded some reckoned coming down from the trees had been a bad idea, while other went one step further and felt coming out of the oceans had been a bad move.
Well, we can keep on trying and hope we get it right, in time to get amongst the Solar System and just explore…

I think we have to get out into the solar system to get it right, when we finally realise our insignificance, the futility of economics and war.

Hopefully the collective shake up to our perceptions might do something!

I’ve had a few disagreements online. I hate the way it made me feel. I’m much for of a face-to-face conversational/debater. So much of our communication is lost in the heat of a keyboard.

It’s not so much that it needs to be face to face it’s just that typically the person you talk to gets nasty very quickly.

We have lots of snow still. Changing to summer time here as well but it’s not even close to spring yet
