My name is Simon I'm an engineer, creator, free thinker and occasionally writer. For far too long I had ideas and nowhere to put them for the world to see, that's why Planet Simon was created. I'm an experimenter, explorer and fascinated by the world around me and the people in it. My exploration goes further than the known universe and expands out to universe's I've created in my mind and put onto the creative canvas. I'm not the person I used to be and over time I have evolved and the blog is evolving with me. Whatever this blog is in the future it's a place where all are welcome and ideas can roam free to find their magical place in the universe. I'm an experimenter, explorer and fascinated by the world around me and the people in it. I love these unusual Astro facts! DO you know of any “wandering planets” that have actually been observed? Also, I just wrote a blog about a new discovery: the fastest pulsar in our Galaxy! https://astrobiscuit.wordpress.com/2017/11/15/the-galaxys-fastest-spinning-top/

I don’t think any wandering planets have been observed, they’re too far away we need stars to help us see them. Have you heard about the Interstellar asteroid?

It makes me happy to see Callisto included in this. Definitely one of the most under-appreciated objects in the Solar System.

It is isn’t it… Why is that?

I don’t know. But I heard recently that Google Earth now includes maps of Io, Europa, and Ganymede, but Callisto got snubbed. Really doesn’t seem fair.

I know what you mean and I’ve heard this. I think a lot of it depends on the data that they have and those three moons seem to have a lot of our interest.

That’s probably true, but I still don’t get why we’re so disinterested in Callisto in the first place.

I’m not sure either.
