The rhyme goes rain, rain go away…
I don’t want the rain to go away, there’s something about the rain, its sound its feel. I like being in it.
Don’t get me wrong, I like the Sun!
But there’s nothing like a bit of rain. So don’t go away just yet!

My name is Simon I'm an engineer, creator, free thinker and occasionally writer. For far too long I had ideas and nowhere to put them for the world to see, that's why Planet Simon was created.
I'm an experimenter, explorer and fascinated by the world around me and the people in it. My exploration goes further than the known universe and expands out to universe's I've created in my mind and put onto the creative canvas.
I'm not the person I used to be and over time I have evolved and the blog is evolving with me. Whatever this blog is in the future it's a place where all are welcome and ideas can roam free to find their magical place in the universe.

It’s rained the last two days non stop here in Melbourne. I kinda agree with you Simon, it’s nice for a change. Refreshing.

I love the rain anytime, you can have too much but I rarely hate it!

I love the rain.
Particularly in autumn & winter when its strengthened by a stiff moderate wind.
But it causes everyone else distress and my wife won’t let me go out and play in the garden in it.

My darling girl know me all to well, I’ll only try and climb a ladder to hack away at tree branch, which itself would be only an excuse to get wind and rain in my face.π
It’s benevolently protective custody π

I agree Simon. Rain is so soothing. I love storms too they remind me how powerful nature is.

We had a small storm the other week. I stood in the full force of the wind so i could feel that awesome power! It was amazing π

One my most vivid childhood memories is of a summer sky turning purple. We had been to my grandparents, and I went swimming as it had been a sweltering day. We returned home moments before the rain poured down. I was about five years old. My mom let me stand outside until the lightning cast ribbon overhead. It was glorious.

I love the sound and smell of rain. I miss having a metal roof for that reason.

I have a plastic sun room roof which does the same thing very nicely.

It is rather relaxing, falling asleep to the sound of rain pattering on the roof.
