(Tale from the Dark Ages-pre computer. One fellow had this clever ploy. As he espied out the corner of his eye a manager approaching, he would slam his pen on his desk and loudly utter a very, very mild word of outrage; the manager would come to a swift halt say ‘Ah I see you’re busy I’ll come back later’)
