The SciFi Files – Julia

Have a look at the first post of an idea I’ve had – a bit like the X Files, looking at the myths and legends that exist and having a look and asking – cold they be true?

The Scifi files is a series of posts taking mysteries that Iā€™ve found on the internet and finding out more about them. Are they real? Could there be a cover up? What monster may live on, in or outside our Earth?


The first unexplained or mysterious file regards a a sound recorded on March 1st 1999 designated ā€œJuliaā€.

The source of this sound is said to have been an Iceberg running aground off Antarctica as this snippet from Wikipedia states:

Julia is a sound recorded on March 1, 1999 by the U.S.National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). NOAA said the source of the sound was most likely a large iceberg that had run aground off Antarctica. It was loud enough to be heard over the entire Equatorial Pacific Ocean autonomous hydrophone array. The unidentified sound lasted for about 15 seconds. Due to the uncertainty of the arrival azimuth
