Pluto’s Fretted Terrain

Pluto's informally named Venera Terra region

Data from the New Horizon’s probe continues to arrive, this picture taken a mere 45 minutes before it’s closest encounter. The terrain it captured is of a type that’s rare in the Solar System, the now the scientis are trying to work out how it’s formed:
